The Perfect Picture

Have you ever tried to sit your kiddos down and get a good picture?

You know, one that you could send to grandparents, or use to update your very out of date blog.

A picture that shows, we're a close family, we love each other and are best friends.

Well, I tried.

And although they might not be the perfect pictures,

I think they said all of that!

Butterfly Pavilion

Well, it's been awhile. I ended up taking the month of December off from the computer. Except when Cale said I had too many emails, and then I just checked them and returned the big priority ones. =)

It was a great break and the perfect time of year to take it!

I had been meaning to post about our trip to the Butterfly Pavilion before the break, but time got away from me. So here it is now. And yes, Christmas posts are still to come.

My favorite butterfly, the Birdwing! They live in the rainforest and since Colorado is most definitely not that, it was a treat to see them up close and personal.

Caroline checking out some VERY LARGE insects. That girl loves bugs. Thankfully all of the insects and arachnids were inclosed in terrariums.

The butterfly portion was just breathtaking. We got to walk around with them flying over us, next to us and even landing on us.

I need to get a butterfly id book. I have one on my wish list.

This is a moth, not a butterfly. But still amazing!

Caroline was quite taken with this little beauty. We've never seen her hold still for such a long period of time. =)

It was a wonderful trip and we will be going again. I could just sit in the butterfly area for hours! God sure has made some beautiful creatures.
