Evan and Caleb had quite the fun find the other evening. They found a Leaf Bug sitting in the road in front of our house. We spent some time looking at him and taking his picture, then we set about rescuing him from becoming Leaf Bug roadkill.
Caleb tried to pick him up, but the little guy kept hopping away. So Evan had the idea of prodding him with a stick across the road. You have to be careful with Leaf Bugs, they are very fragile and their legs can fall off easily.

Our little Leaf Bug was in no hurry to get across. He took his time, but the boys were very patient and gentle with him. I kept wondering what we were going to do if a car came along. I figured I would have to stop the car and ask them to go around our little friend. I know, it's crazy, but it was important to the boys. And by this time I was rooting for the little guy too.

That is just to cute, and congrats for getting him across safely. I agree, you would have HAD to ask a car to go around!
This is so cute! I loved how hard the boys worked on helping this leaf bug get across the street!
