Daddy was out of town this week, so things were a little different than normal around our house. We started off with a bang and then Caleb was just more interested in other things. There are times when I would push or try to refocus on school, but with daddy in CA, we just did a lot of playing outside, reading books, going to the library and playdough. Really though, that's part of what being 4 is all about.
Phonics: We worked on our sight words by spelling them aloud and with magnetic letters. We tried writing in salt, this lasted about 5 minutes, the kitty kept distracting us. Like I said above we were easily distracted with school this week.
Art/Crafts: Caleb listened to Mozart and drew to the music. We taped some of that marvelous large easel paper to the floor and Caleb drew the way the music made him feel.

Nature: We are getting ready for the fall bird feeding at our house. So we filled the feeders and set up a squirrel station. Hopefully this will keep the squirrels occupied and away from the songbird food. Notice I said, hopefully.

Cooking: We made Hay and Gravel bars (coconut and pecan). They were quite yummy!
We also rode bikes, went to library story time, played at the park, played playdough, read LOTS of books and hung out with Evan. Now daddy is home!!! So we are getting back in the normal grove of things.

I really liked the your art idea. Music is a huge part of our home as well.
Drawing to music sounds like a great idea! Thanks for sharing your week.
Sounds like it was still a productive preschool week. I love the drwaing to the feel of the music activity too.
I love how you did the sight words. That looks like a great activity.
