Magnify Glass Fun, Dandelion Life Cycle

A couple of days ago we spent some time taking a closer look at our Dandelion buddies. Here Caleb is examining the leaves from a Dandelion. The French thought the jagged leaves looked like the teeth of a lion, thus the name Dandelion.

We also spent some time looking at the Dandelion Life Cycle.

Did you know that the seeds of a Dandelion have little hooks/barbs on them to help them stay put in the soil they land on? We got to see them through our magnify glass and how cool it was. God sure does think of everything.

Our little Scientist!
The magnify glass we used I purchased from the Target. It is definitely not high tech. I would love to have a magnify glass that is a little higher quality; I'm sure it would make a big difference in what we could see. But Caleb enjoyed our closer look at the Dandelion, so it worked well enough for now. Always something to add to the wish list.
