1 Corinthians 12

This week and the second half of last week we have been talking about 1 Corinthians 12. We read from our Bible and then discussed what being a part of the body of Christ is. We also discussed how God has given each of us a special gift that we can use to do Jesus' work. He asked me what my special gift was and Daddy's gift was. Those were easy to explain. But when he asked me what Caroline's was. Well, I had a tougher time with that one. I ended up telling him that Caroline was a baby and that as she got older Jesus would show her what her gift was and how she could use it for Him. Now I'm sure he'll ask me each day if Jesus has shown Caroline her special gift yet. We'll see.

Our Bible memory verse, 1 Corinthians 12:27

This is an activity Caleb did to show that each one of us is a part of the body of Christ. The cross represents Christ and he glued pictures of family members and friends onto it. We talked about how when Jesus died He sent the Holy Spirit to live inside each one of us. Now we can love others the way Jesus does.
We will work on our memory verse throughout the rest of the week, then finish up with one more activity at church on Sunday. We're going to talk about how the people who go to our church are part of the body of Christ. Then we'll go on a little excursion throughout the church to show Caleb specific examples of people using the gifts Jesus has given them: communion prep, Sunday school teacher, minister, worship team, etc. I'm saying a prayer that this makes a big impact on Caleb. Cale and I pray that both Caleb and Caroline will realize the special gifts God has given them, and then get to spend their whole lives glorifying Him with them. I cannot think of a better recipe for happiness and fulfillment.
