Today we spent Caroline's morning nap time building our bird's nest with the nature materials we had collected yesterday. We had some great materials to work with.
First we took a brown paper lunch sack and pulled the bottom up and rolled the sides down. This gave us our basic nest shape. Then Mama operated the hot glue gun and Caleb selected just the right item and put it in just the right place on our nest.
We lined the inside of our nest with some cotton we found outside in Jammie's yard, some dog hair we found from our yard and some soft dried up grass. Birds tend to line the insides of their nests with soft materials such as these, as well as feathers, moss and mud.
Especially birds that lay blue and green Easter eggs. Sorry, but it's the only eggs I had that would not break and create a mess. And my little birdie was more than pleased!
