Pumpkin Unit

OCTOBER 24th

Even though I have not been posting about it, we are still doing preschool homeschool about three mornings a week. Blythe joins us on ocassion like with our Pumpkin Unit. We started the unit before Pumpkin Farm day and Caleb loved it so much we expanded it and kept going.

Caleb counts pumpkins and seeds and puts them in numerical order. Of course it is much more fun to do if you sit on the table!

Blythe does the same thing, but she is much more refined about it.

Caleb's Bible Memory Verse Poster. We have a Bible verse with each book we row or unit we do. For the Pumpkin Unit we memorized Matthew 5:16.

Caleb and Blythie paint pumpkins from the Pumpkin Farm.
We had a blast with this unit. We did lots of pumpkin crafts, used our five senses to make observations about the outside and inside of pumpkins, did some pumpkin math games, pumpkin measuring, pumpkin songs and learned about the pumpkin lifecycle. After this Caleb is going to make sure we plant pumpkins in the Spring.

Matthew 5:16 "Let your light shine so that others will see the good that you do and will praise your father in Heaven."
